RESULTS
The Morrie Burns Trophy
The weather at the weekend kept numbers low but 18 golfers turned out to compete and we got some outstanding honour board matches cleared up as well.
The winner with an excellent 39 points was Pete Robinson, coming in 5 points clear of Mick Edmunds on 34. Mick Schofield came in third on 31 points. Mr Edmunds was again lowest gross with a level par 70.
Birdie balls went to Brett Kilgour on the 15th.
Well played and congratulations to all !
More congratulations go to Mick Edmunds on winning the Henry Cotton Cup on Sunday, beating Darren Cumper in the final. Commiserations to Darren catching Mick in such good form but well done for making the final.
DECEMBER FIXTURES / DATES
This coming weekend, 29th/30th/1st – December monthly Medal
To be played off back mats. The handicap indexes will be adjusted in the hope of a more even spread between the two divisions.
The Turkey Trot – 6th/7th/8th December
This will be a stableford competition off the back mats. There will be club subsidised prizes depending on the turnout and they will be in the form of money being credited to members cards for use in the bar. This is in line with the vote amongst those that attended the AGM.
Sunday 15th December
As mentioned earlier, this is the Captain;s drive in and there will be no competition this weekend.
Lee’s Xmas Drinks & Golf – Saturday 21st December
Lee was trying to organise a Xmas drink among the membership and we are now combining it with golf. Lee is going to book tee times for around 9.30 on this day. There will be a non qualifying stableford competition off the yellow mats incorporating a £2, £2, £2 roll up with money going to the winners of the front 9, back 9 and overall. We already have pledges of nearest the pin prizes for all the par 3’s.
After Golf the Xmas drinking can begin ! Some may decide to carry on late in to the night and move on later.
All are welcome.
We need an idea of numbers for booking the tees and staffing the bar. There is a sign up sheet on the notice board that went up yesterday and we are already up to 18, so if you fancy a last game and a beer before Christmas, get your name down.
DIARY
December fixtures are now on howdidido and the diary on the club website will be updated until July next year before this weekend.
That’s all for now, enjoy your golf!
