RESULTS
August Monthly Medal – w/e 25th
We had a very good showing of 33 entrants over the Bank Holiday weekend. Dan Clement won the medal shooting a gross 78 – net 68 beating Gary Fraser into second spot with a gross 87 – net 69 on countback from Tony Howson in third.
Birdie balls were won by Daryl Mechem, Ali Fisher, Chris Kirby, Dan Clement and Gary Fraser.

Midweek Stableford at Top Meadow GC Wed 28th August
We had 32 members attend this now annual away day, this year playing for the Ian Nelson Memorial Trophy. The weather, food and company were spot on and everyone involved had a great day out. The winner was Colin Gingel with 40 Stableford points just beating Mick Butcher into second on 39 points with Colin Jarman third on 37. Stan Ferguson paid tribute to Ian Nelson and after the prize giving there was a raffle. The proceeds of the raffle along with any other profits from the day totalled £320 and were presented to Captain Chris for his charity, Scotties Little Soldiers, for which he is very grateful.

Many thanks to Bob Leek, Colin Jarman, Stan Ferguson (and their helpers) for organising the event.

Midweek Stableford 4th September
We had 19 entries for this month’s Stableford competition and played for the Ravenswood Trophy. Roy George came out on top with 40 points beating Dave Seymour into second place with 39 points. Daryl Mechem and Malcolm Brennan came in with 37 points.

Birdie balls went to Mick Butcher.

September Monthly Medal – w/e 8th
We had 24 entries this month. Div 1 was won by Andy Scott shooting a gross 78 – net 67. Second and third were Chris Donovan and Peter Robinson with net 69, Chris just edging it on countback.

Division 2 was won by Lee Porter with a gross 93 – net 71 just beating Cyril Elliot with a 95 – net 72.
Birdie balls were won by Roy George, Andy Scott, Chris Read and Bob Leek.

Memorial Day – Saturday 14th Sept
The Captain organised the event for us and we had 27 entrants playing a Stableford competition from the white tees for The Dave Cundick Trophy. The weather was good to us and a buffet was provided by the club upon our return. Martin Johnson won the day and the trophy scoring 40 points. Second place went to Dave Burgess on 38 points with Pete Robinson third with 37.

Birdie balls went to Mick Edmunds on the 1st and 10th, Andy Scott, Pete Robinson and Dan Clement.

Upcoming events / fixtures
Chris has put a list on the notice board for the Roger Foreman match being played in October so if you want to be considered, get your names down.

The list for the Autumn Shield ( pairs – four ball better ball ) on 5th October is still up and will be taken down the weekend before and a draw made.

September Midweek Medal – Wed 18th
This will be the last chance for someone to qualify for this year’s Gold Medal (honour board) competition. Usual 7.30 start, yellow tees.

Captains Autumn away day – Friday 20th
Rochford GC – Playing for the M Hardiman Trophy.
Just a reminder for those attending to be there for 8.00am for bacon rolls and coffee. Please bring your £60.00 in cash which Chris will collect. Prize giving and a steak pie lunch will follow after the round.

Rochford do not allow the changing of shoes in the car park, changing room codes will be made available. Recognised golf attire only, golf shoes are only allowed in the spike bar. When parking, please park nose to nose.

Gold and Silver Medal Weekend 27th,28th,29th September
A list of Gold Medal qualifiers will be sent out after this Wednesday. If you haven’t qualified, there is still the silver medal competition running at the same time which you can enter on this weekend.
