THE IAN ARTHUR SOUTHGATE TROPHY w/e 11/8/24
Last weekend saw 28 players go to East Sussex National golf club for a weekend away and to play for the trophy in memory of Ian Southgate. The Friday roll up winners were Jamie Montgomerie, Martin Johnson and Lee Porter. Saturday’s winners were Dave Burgess, Chris Kirby and Andy Scott. The overall final standings saw Andy Scott win the Trophy with Dave Burgess runner up and Chris Kirby in third. I’m assured there was plenty of drinking, banter and money changing hands. A great weekend was had by all.

Congratulations to all and many thanks to Colin Wyatt and Lee Porter for the organising.

FIXTURES

MIDWEEK MEDAL Wednesday 14th August
This Wednesday is the usual monthly medal off the yellow tees. ( This month’s midweek stableford is being played at Top Meadow on the 28th for The Ian Nelson Trophy – more details will follow nearer the time)

CAPTAINS DAY Sat 17th August
Captain Chris has now taken down the sign up sheet with approx 50 entrants inc guests. As there are a lot of tee times required Chris will be doing an order of play which he will send out later this week.

As previously mentioned the tee times will be from midday onward so we have swapped our normal 7.30 booking. Should you want to play early this coming Saturday you will need to make your own arrangements with the starters hut. Also just a reminder that the members reduced green fee of £15.00 for this event is not available to guests.
We will be playing for The Captains Cup, a club stableford competition off the white tees. Just sign in to the PSI as usual.

That’s all for now, Happy golfing !
