Firstly, we have have a change of tee time for this coming Sunday 4th August due to Belfairs Guest Day. Our first time is 8.00am.

RESULTS
Midweek Stableford competition for the Fred Gates Trophy 24/7/24
We had 19 entries and the event was won by Bryn Cooksley with a score of 40 points, just beating Dan Clement on 39 with Dave Seymour taking third spot on 35. There were 5 sleeves of club balls won for birdie 2’s going to Malcolm Brennan, Dan Clement, Roy George (again !), Dave Seymour and Mick Butcher.
Congratulations and well played to all !

Stan’s Presidents Cup competition and Party Sat 27/7/24
As usual, this was well attended and everyone involved reported having a great afternoon of fun and golf.
The competition itself was won by Jason Weald with 37 stableford points. Well done Jason.
The after party was a great success, everyone was well fed and it went on late in to the evening with drinks and music. In total alongside the raffle, £350 was raised for the Captain’s charity, Scotty’s little soldiers. Well done to everyone supporting the event. Well done and many thanks to Stan and Julie for organising, catering and hosting this again !

The Presidents Trophy Fri/Sat/Sun 26th,27th,28th July
The club competition running over the weekend was won by yours truly with 39 points (it’s been a while). Jason Weald was second on 37 points and Phil Sanford third on countback from Pete Robinson, Gary Fraser and Mick Edmunds, all on 36 points. Club balls for birdie 2’s went to Roy George (yet again !!), Pete Robinson and 2 sleeves for Dan Clement. Congratulations and well played to all.
PS. Can’t remember who it was but someone asked me to mention that the lowest gross shot over the weekend was Mick Edmunds with a 71. Well played Mick.

Norman Plum Competition Sun 28th July
Unfortunately our great run in this event came to an end on Sunday when we were beaten by Colchester at the quarter finals stage. We managed to hold them to a tie at Colchester but were overcome at home by a strong competitive team. Well done to Mick and all the players involved this year, you should all be very proud, it’s been a fantastic effort and achievement from a club of our size. Hopefully we can continue in the same manner next year.

This coming weekend “The Tiger Trophy” Fri/Sat/Sun 3rd, 4th, 5th August
This is a stroke play competition off the white tees. Don’t forget that our tee time on Sunday has changed to 8.00am.

Captains Day Sat 17th August – Playing for The Captains Cup
Chris has now put a sign up sheet on the board for this event and already has 26 names down so it is likely to be heavily subscribed. Please help the organisers by getting you names down asap or messaging Chris or myself direct so we can organise tee times and catering etc. The details on the sheet are as follows;
18 hole stableford competition off yellow tees
1st tee time will be 12.00 noon
Sausage in a roll, tea/coffee on arrival, followed by a light buffet after golf and a BBQ late afternoon / evening.
Prize for the Winner plus prizes for nearest the pin on all par 3’s
Past Captains Prize
Green fee will be reduced to £15 for members only – There will be no cost for your food.
£3.00 entry to club competition – club balls for birdie 2’s
Chris is open to having guests, however there are no green fee concessions for non members(only guest day).Members must have competition cards signed and verified by a member of our club.
Sign in instructions for competition will be confirmed nearer the time.
There will be a raffle as usual, the proceeds will go to the Captains charity.
Chris hopes to see as many of you as possible for another great day of golf, banter and bets !

August Monthly Medal Fr/Sat/Sun/Mon 23rd,24th,25th,26th August
Usual medal format from the white tees. Competition extended by one day to incorporate the Bank holiday Monday.
