Hello to all,

The Southend Cup Qualifier
We had a total of 38 entrants over last weekend competing for the knockout draw. The winning score was from new member Ramiro Salom with a gross 97 – net 68, his best score so far. Dan Staples and Jarrod Joseph took the next two places with net 70’s.

The last qualifying place (15th) was hotly contested and five players carded a net 79. Chris Donovan won the place in a countback card play off.

Lowest gross was Mick Edmunds again with a 74.
Birdie balls were won by Iain McEwan on the 12th.
Congratulations and well played to all the top 15 !

Southend Cup and Veterans Trophy Draws

The draws for both of these competitions will be made in the Club after golf this Wednesday

Wednesday Wanderers Match this week 29th
Paul Eley had arranged our annual fixture against Boyce Police Society some time ago now but unfortunately they can not raise a full team.

Rather than cancel the day it has now morphed in to two teams, the Banditos and the Federalis, made up from ourselves and the available Police. We have 22 players so far but everyone is welcome to turn up and join in. The cost is £10 and includes bacon rolls on arrival, fish and chip lunch and prizes including 5 nearest the pins and secret partners. Monies left over will go to the Captains charity. We have swapped tee times with Belfairs so it’s 7.30 meet and eat with an 8.30 1st tee time.

There is no club competition this coming weekend so enjoy your usual roll ups and keep up the good work getting matches played.

The sign up sheet is still on the notice board for GUEST DAY on 22nd June.

That’s all for now,

Happy Golfing
