Hello All,

Firstly, a message from Captain Chris
After a very busy week I would like to congratulate all of our magnificent team that played in the Roger Foreman match away to Belfairs on Sunday. They delivered a well deserved and decisive win 10 1/2 to 5 1/2. Great day and result, thank you all.

Thank you also to all 31 who came to Stapleford Abbotts on Thursday for my spring away day. Another great day with lot’s of money raised for my charity. Congratulations to Ali Fisher on winning the day. Thanks to Ali and runner up Tony Pegrum for returning all their winnings to the charity. Thank you all for your continued support, it is gratefully appreciated.

Next weekend, Fri/Sat/Sun , 26th,27th,28th, will be the qualifying competition for the Henry Cotton Cup. Medal play off the white tees. The top 15 plus last year’s winner, Chris Read, will qualify for the knockout match play draw.

As well as all the Major’s / Honour board compettions to be awarded there are The Morrie Burns Trophy, The Stableford Trophy, The Biceno Trophy, The Golden day Trophy, Capt & Vice 3 club challenge, The Captains Cup, The M Hardiman Trophy The Dave Cundick Trophy, The Tiger Trophy, The Autumn Shield, The Jimmy Grove Trophy, The Ben Birkham Trophy and the two Orders of Merit. In all, around 32 competitions. All winners and runners up that are in attendance on the night will receive a sleeve of club golf balls. Captain for that year, Lee Porter, will be doing the presenting so come along to support him and all the prize winners and have a good drink with friends at the same time.

With Guest day and Captains day looming, there are the usual plans to tidy up the changing rooms and shower areas. There has been a gradual build up of clothes, shoes, bags, clubs etc that shouldn’t be there. If you could make an effort please to remove these prior to the clean up as anything unclaimed and deemed rubbish will be disposed of.

That’s all for now, Happy Golfing !
