Hello all,

Niven Dimmer
It is with great sadness that the committee would like to inform all members that we have been notified by his family that Niven passed away peacefully on Sunday morning. Very sad news and our thoughts are with all of Niven’s family and friends.

Niven was a highly respected former Captain and committee member, a good friend to many within our club and a true gentleman.

We will keep you informed about funeral arrangements as and when we know them. It’s our Captains intention to represent the club and hopefully others wishing to pay their respects will be welcome.

For those of you that knew him and weren’t already aware, another former member, Vic Askew, sadly also passed away last week. RIP Vic.

The January monthly medal was played over the weekend. There were 26 entries.

Division 1 was won by Dan Clement, scoring a gross 80 – net 69, just beating Iain McEwan in to second spot with a gross 79 – net 70.

Division 2 was won by Lee Porter, gross 92 – net 69, 2 strokes clear of Adam Johnson with a gross 95 – net 71.

Well played and congratulations gents !

The lowest gross shot over the weekend was yet again Mick Edmunds with a 75. Well done Mick.!

Club balls won for birdie 2’s go to Roy George and Chris Read on the 10th and Pete Robinson and Mick Edmunds on the 15th. Well done !

The next competition up is the February Monthly Medal which is scheduled for the 9th, 10th and 11th of February.
So a free weekend next week will hopefully enable some of the Sportsman and winter 4 ball matches to get played.

That’s all for now, enjoy your golf.
