News-Course Update-Fixtures
Good afternoon everyone, wishing you all a happy and healthy 2024 !
COURSE UPDATE
More of a warning than an update really. The head greenkeeper is inspecting the course early every morning at the moment and deciding whether it stays open or is to be closed on a day by day basis. Captain Chris was working in the starters hut this morning and was told that it wouldn’t take much more rain to close it. It’s rained a lot today so could well be closed tomorrow. A firm decision will be made by 8.00am. Not a great start to the year but it really is wet and muddy out there and the greens are saturated.
RESULTS
We finally managed to get the December midweek medal played on the 27th. Twenty players competed and Chris Nash won his second medal of the month with a gross 87 – net 67, narrowly beating Bryn Cooksley on countback who also had a gross 87 – net 67.
Lowest gross was Dan Clement with an 80.
Birdie balls go to Chris Snell and Roy George, both on the 15th.
Congratulations and well played to all !

WINTER FOUR BALL & SPORTSMANS COMPETITIONS
Due to the lower footfall over the xmas and new year holiday and poor course conditions, we have decided to leave the sign up sheet up a bit longer for the four ball and are now planning to draw both competitions after golf on Sunday 14th January.
That’s all for now folks, let’s hope for some better weather !
