Results
The new golfing season got underway at the weekend with the Morrie Burns Trophy and we had another well attended competition with 33 entrants. Dan Staples took the Trophy with 40 points, narrowly squeezing out Dave Payne on countback, also on 40 points. It turned out to be a very closely fought competition with only 4 points separating the top 11 places. Mick Edmunds yet again came in with the lowest gross score of 72.

Fixtures
This weekend coming, 1-3/12/2023 is the December Monthly Medal. The usual sign in on PSI and phones will be available. Thank you to (nearly) everyone for taking on board my request for markers names, it’s much appreciated.

Brian / Chris will be sending out more info on the Basildon xmas away day on a separate email.

THE NORMAN PLUMB TROPHY
As a club, we have entered this Essex Golf Union competition again for 2024. It’s a team competition that sparked a lot of interest and enthusiasm within the club last year. Mick Edmunds has kindly agreed to select and manage the team again for us and has got the full details. For the benefit of those that haven’t been involved before it’s essentially a squad of players that Mick will monitor and pick teams from for the various matches. There are certain handicap limits on players but if you are interested in playing and representing our club and want to know more, just contact Mick directly on 07956 397121 or speak to him in the club.
