M Hardiman Trophy
Thank you to Captain Lee who held another great day out last Friday at Mardyke Valley Golf Club. We were playing for the M Hardiman Trophy. The good weather, good food and very good company made for a very enjoyable day. Martin Johnson won the spoils with a solid 37 stableford points, beating runner up Tony Howson on 36 points. Nearest the pins went to Dan Clement and Kevin Verner. Well played all and congratulations to Martin. All cards were entered on the WHS system and so are not available on howdidido.

October Monthly Medal
Another good turnout over the weekend saw Terry Burgess win division 1 scoring a gross 81 / net 65 with runner up Chris Read close behind scoring gross 82 / net 66.
Division 2 was won by Malcolm Brennan, gross 85 / net 65 with runner up Steve Staples scoring gross 86 / net 67.

Fixtures

October Midweek Medal
The October midweek medal will be played this Wednesday 11th Oct. As is now the norm, this will be off the yellow tees. Sign in on the PSI as usual. Don’t forget that preferred lies are now in play on the fairways..

The H Foreman Cup
This weekend, 13th,14th,15th, we will be playing the H Foreman Cup. This is a Par/Bogey competition, played from the white tees. We may have some newer members that are not familiar with scoring this format of golf so may wish to either read up on it or get advice from one of the old hands. Either way, don’t worry too much about it, there will be sign in on the PSI as usual and as long as you put your GROSS score for each hole on your cards and in the PSI, it will work out. I will be carefully checking the winning cards so please make sure you have your name and markers name, date you played etc CLEARLY marked.

The Autumn Shield

Only being played on Sunday 22nd Oct. This is a pairs competition, 4 ball better ball, stableford. It is mandatory that pairs are pre registered to play in this event, there will be no entry on the day. The sign up sheet has been up on the notice board for about a week and is filling up nicely. If you wish to play it’s important to get your names down or let me know your intent up until next Wednesday 18th Oct. After this date the sheet will be taken down and an order of play drawn.
