Wednesday Wanderers Seniors Awayday at Top meadow
Hello All,
30/8/23 Wednesday Wanderers Seniors Awayday at Top meadow
Manythanks to Bob Leek and his team for organising such a fun day out with some very inventive ways of raising money for the Captains Charity. There were 31 players in attendance with various prizes for nearest the pin etc and a raffle. The competition winner was Ron Wagstaff with second place Paul Kreyling hot on his heels.
The real winner on the day was Gold Geese, the captains charity, which has benefited from the £187.00 raised. Lee was quite taken aback and has already thanked those involved for their efforts and generosity.
1-3/9/23 Gold & Silver Medal WeekendAgain, we had another well attended weekend at the club with 40 entrants over the two competitions.
The Gold medal Winner was Steve Staples with a magnificent net 62 with the runner up being Dan Staples on a net 67. (hopefully there wasn’t a family dinner planned)
The Silver Medal was won by Andy Scott with a net 66 with runner up John Humble beating Mick schofield in a card play off with net 68’s
Congratulations and well played to all of you.
4/9/23 Seniors match against Maldon Golf Club
Many thanks to Dave Seymour and Simon Ravinet for organising this return fixture. We were soundly beaten 6.5 -1.5 at Maldon a few months back so it was nice to beat them by exactly the same margin on Monday. I know players from both teams enjoyed the day and we look forward to repeat fixtures next year.
This Saturday 9/9/23 Memorial Day *
We are playing for the Dave Cundick Trophy in Memory of Dave and all past members that are sadly no longer with us. This is a stableford competition off the white tees, just sign in the PSI as normal. As previously mentioned, the first tee off time is 10.00am and attached is an order of play. We have spare capacity on the tee so if anyone didn’t get their name down and wants to play, just turn up, sign in and follow off at the back. Worth noting that we have returned our normal 7.30 times back to the starters hut so if you want to play early on Saturday you will need to make a booking.
Tea, coffee and bacon rolls will be available from 8.30am and there is a barbeque planned for after the golf. All proceeds from the day are going back into the club.
CLUBV1 – PSI Machine*
As many of you will know, there have been quite a few problems with the machine lately. After spending some time with the on line support team this week I hope that we will see an improvement. The memory has been freed up and the hard disc cleaned and de fragged (whatever that is). When the first person in touches the screen the machine needs to DOWNLOAD from the hosts (the little orange segment in top right hand corner). Once that download is complete there is a grey bar at the bottom telling you it is now UPLOADING DATA and will say when upload is complete and machine is ready to use. This whole process should only take a couple of minutes but has been taking much longer. Because it has been taking longer than it should, some people have been randomly pressing keys to try and reboot, switching it on and off and altering settings. The engineer identified that three internal settings had been changed between last Friday and Saturday alone. Hopefully the waiting for it to be ready time is now significantly reduced and we won’t have any more problems, but if it does not work for any reason PLEASE DO NOT PLAY AROUND WITH THE KEYBOARD OR THE WINDOWS BUTTONS TRYING TO SOLVE IT. just send a text reporting it to me or a committee member and leave a card in the box instead.
Kind Regards and Happy Golfing
