Despite the best attempts of the weather over the weekend, 22 entrants managed to compete for the August monthly medal. (hat’s off to Julian Walden and Chris Donovan for braving the Saturday)

Div 1 winner was Dan Staples with a net 70, narrowly beating Dan Clement in to second place with a net 71.

Div2 winner was Chris Read, net 72, just pipping Paul Eley in a card play off on the same score.

Chris Donovan wins “birdie balls” with a 2 on the second.

There is no competition this weekend coming. I hope that all of you going to Old Thorns have a great weekend and for those not going there are the usual “roll ups” and maybe an opportunity to catch up with any outstanding matches.

The next competition is THE AUGUST MIDWEEK MEDAL on Wednesday 16th.

CAPTAINS DAY is coming up on Saturday 19th. There is still a sign up sheet on the board which Captain Lee will leave up until at least this coming Sunday. Please try and get your name up if you intend to play to assist with estimating for catering etc. Lee has a lot planned for the day and further details will be sent out in advance.

Lastly I would like to add my personal thanks to Chris Snell for all the hard work and dedication he has put in to this role for many years and I hope that a “breather” will enable him to enjoy a great year when he takes over as club captain.
