Last Weekend 32 Played The Stableford Trophy.

The Winner was Dan Clement with an exceptional 45 Points from The Runner Up Garry Dickinson with 40 Points.
Congratulations Dan on your Victory well done.

The full result has been published on Howdidido and will be displayed in the Club in due Course.

This coming Weekend we shall be playing The Valentine Medals.

There will be a Division 1 & 2 Competition with Merit Points for both. Entry fee £3.00 with Birdie Balls for Birdies on Par 3 Holes only. Please sign in and enter your scores on the computer when finished.

Many thanks for progressing your outstanding Matches in The Winter 4 Ball and Sportsman Trophies. The Cut off date for The Sportsman unless granted an extension is this coming Weekend.

The entry list for The Veterans Trophy is displayed at the Club and there has been a great response. Thank you all of those who have paid the entry Fee off £2.00. The Draw will be made over the Weekend 25/26th February by The Captain.

The Committee met on Tuesday evening and agreed Southend Golf Clubs Terms of Competitions. These in due course will be sent to you all and displayed within the Club. An addendum of long standing Local Rules was also agreed and will be displayed accordingly.

After consultation with The County Handicap Advisor at a recent meeting of Competition Secretary’s and Club officials at Romford GC, The Committee agreed that the following shall apply.

New Club Members who join from the 1st of April 2023 without a WHS Handicap will be required to submit 8 score cards, including the 3 required to obtain a Handicap Index, before they may be awarded a Club Trophy or Medal in Competition.These cards must be in rounds played with another Member and not submitted remotely.

This practice has been adopted by many Clubs and has been confirmed to be within the Rules of Handicapping. This gives Clubs the opportunity to fully assess ability over 8 Rounds and where the WHS System can more accurately calculate Handicap Indexes.

New Members will not be excluded from entering Competitions, but will be awarded an alternative prize should they win.

Current Members will not be affected by this change.
