Hello All

The Draw for the Sportsman Trophy 1st Round will be made This Saturday by The Captain at the Club. All active playing Members will be included. Please inform me if you do NOT wish to be included.

Only current Members will be entered in the Draw and who hold a managed WHS Handicap.

All 1st Round Matches will be played by Sunday 19th February. No extensions. If you feel that you will not be in a position to play by then due to being away etc let me know and I will not put you in the Draw.

Thank you all who attended the AGM and Presentation night at the Club last Friday. A very enjoyable evening and good to see so many of you there. Pictures of the night will b placed on the Club Website in due course.

Likewise thank you to all who attended the Club and played in the Cyril Elliott 90th Birthday Stableford Competition last Wednesday. Again it was fantastic to see so many there to celebrate Cyril’s special day with him. Congratulations to the Winner Peter Carter!

Club clothing: Brian Taylor is intending to complete a clothing order in the near future. Please see the attached Callaway Catalogue at bottom of the page to view and send your order to Brian at blt@sky.com including the item code,size and colour, plus whether the Club logo is required.

There is no Club Competition this coming Weekend. Thank you to those making the effort to complete outstanding Winter 4 Ball Matches. 2nd Round Matches must be played by Sunday 5th February. No extensions.

The next Competition will be The January Monthly Medal 20-22nd January. £3.00 entry, birdie balls on Par 3 holes only. Please sign in and enter your scores on the computer on completion.

The January Midweek Medal will be played on Wednesday 18th January.

The Committee have been asked by The Essex Golf Union to reiterate to all Members that it is a requirement of all Southend on Sea Golf Club Competitions that competition score cards are marked and signed by another Member of the Club without exception, unless authorised by the Committee in advance. This Rule will be displayed in writing at the Club for the attention of all Members.

A reminder that in future all Pairs Competitions will be pre -registered and will be played on one designated day. If there is an odd Pair the Committee will ensure that an approved Marker is assigned.

Finally all of you who are going on the Club golf trip to Gatton Manor in August and intend using the coach that has been arranged by Lee Porter you will need to pay the £55 cost to Lee by the end off next Month.
