Firstly Dave Cundick / Memorial Day in previous Newsletter should read 10th September not August!! Apologies.

Saturday 27th August: Round 1 Club Championship Scratch & Handicap.

I will be opening the Club early and will be issuing cards and confirming correct Handicaps to those playing in the Handicap Competition.

No Bar, Tea Coffee will be available.

7.30am start or whenever Tee Free.

Remember that in Handicap Competition you will have a Playing Handicap 95% of your Course Handicap from the White Tees.

I will attempt to get players out in 3/4 balls, where appropriate in roughly Handicap order. I repeat roughly depending on who is there and turns up.

To avoid the confusion of a couple of years ago I will sign ALL players into their Competitions. There is NO need for anyone to Sign in. I will also collect scorecards on completion of you Round and will enter your scores on to the computer.

Please check and sign your respective cards before handing them in. once handed in for scoring to be recorded there will be no alterations.

If You enter the Competition on Saturday you are expected to play in both Rounds. Although you will return a score on one card for both Scratch and Handicap, The WHS regards your score as TWO Rounds and Handicaps will be managed accordingly.

I therefore suggest that you carefully consider whether you intend to enter both or Handicap Competition. It is ultimately your choice of course.

Both Competitions are FREE to enter.

At the conclusion of Play an Order of Play will be decided for those Members involved the Club Championship Scratch and Handicap to go out first on Sunday in Roughly Highest Scores first Leaders last out.

I will publish the Order of Play. There will be no changes without my consideration.

Sunday 28th August.: Round 2 Club Championship Scratch/Handicap & Jimmy Groves/ Ben Birkham Competitions.

You MUST SIGN IN, in order to see any Handicap Changes overnight!

8.30am start or whenever Tee Free.

Club will be open early. No Bar, Tea and Coffee available.

You will go out according to the Club Championship Order of Play.

Followed by a Draw for those only playing on the Sunday in The Ben Birkham or Jimmy Groves Competitions

Jimmy Groves – Playing Handicap up to 18 Ben Birkham- Playing Handicap 19 and above.

£3.00 entry Fee plus Birdie Balls on Par 3 Holes only.

You Will SIGN IN for those Competitions above only. In order to obtain your correct Playing Handicap.

I would like to play over the weekend so will be going out first and then collecting cards and scoring with my assistant Colin Fulker after play.

Someone, to be nominated will conduct a Draw for those not playing in the Club Championship.

There will be a light Buffet lunch after Play on each day.

There are a number of people away and or not playing both days for various reasons. I expect a decent turnout from those who have contacted or spoken to me regarding there intentions to play.

The event was a success last year in this format.
