I hope that you are all well and those that attended fully recovered fro Sundays Drive In.

We start a New Year at Southend Golf Club and look forward to a great year of competitions and friendship. congratulations to Nick Chapman our New Captain and we wish him well for his year. It will be a great one!

“I would like to thank everyone that was at the drive in on Sunday which was a great day. All of the Kindred Captains commented on how the Members made them feel welcome at the Club and enjoyed our hospitality. Thank you all for making my day so enjoyable.

I will soon be advertising a Quiz Night to be held in late January early February. I look forward to seeing and playing with you all in the forthcoming year.”

December Medal Result.

Congratulations Mick Edmunds on Winning last weeks Medal with an excellent 70-4-66 with a great effort by Simon Ravinet Runner up 84-16-66

Mick’s Medal count now up to 90/95 plus. Ive lost count. He will confirm in due course!

Mick also won two sleeves of balls for Birdies on 1&10 and submitted the Lowest Gross score, firmly advertising his position as being the best player at the Club!

Division 2 was won by Tony Crispin with 90-24-66 from the only other finisher Steve Staples with 96-21-75 Congratulations and well played Tony.

Birdie Balls were also won by Peter Robinson, Paul Gray and Andy Scott all at the 10th. Well played.

There were 15 Competitors. £45.00 Was collected.

The Winter 4 ball competition is not moving, please play outstanding Matches as soon as possible. I have granted 2 extensions for Medical reasons. Otherwise play or risk elimination.

No Club Competition this weekend. Play above if possible Otherwise amuse yourselves.

Malcolm Brennan…

Malcolm is recovering in Hospital from surgery and is doing well, We all wish both Mal and Barbara our very best wishes and hope it is not too long before we see and hear you at the club again!

Finally. as you are all aware COVID is on the March again. Please maintain basic precautions, such as washing your hands, maintain social distancing where possible. Please do not attend the club if you are feeling unwell.

I hope to see as many of you as possible before Christmas, enjoy your golf!
