Burgess Lowest Gross…
Hello All.
Last Weekend we played the May Monthly Medal. There were 25 entries, £72.00 was collected.
A mixed Weekend of Wind, rain and sunshine saw Terry Burgess win Division 1 with the Lowest Gross score 79 (69) from Andy Scott 86 (71). Well played Terry with the only Net Sub Par Round.
Division 2 was won by Lee Porter, 91 (71) Lowest Gross, from Simon Ravinet on Count Back 93 (71). Congratulations and well played to you both.
Birdie 2 Balls to Ali Fisher for his 2 on 12th. Well done.
Full results are available on HowdidiDo and will be displayed at the Club.
All current Club Handicaps are available on HowdidiDo and My England Golf App’s.
There will be a free Weekend with no Club Competition this Weekend.
Match SGC v Boyce Hill (Police) Wednesday 19th May:
Congratulations to the Seniors/ Wednesday Wanderers Team who triumphed in the Match last week winning by 14 Points in a combined Stableford points Match. A very enjoyable day. Thanks to Paul Eley for coordinating and producing large quantities of Fish and Chips! Also Bucko for opening up the Club and providing Bacon Rolls and hot drinks. Congratulations on regaining the Trophy.
Kindred Qualifier The Spring Shield Sunday 6th June:
There have been 14 entries to date for this Pairs Competition. If you wish to form a Team there is still time. The list is up at the Club, or contact me with your pairing. £4.00 entry per pair.
Due to the numbers expected I will be conducting a draw later next week and will inform all pairs of their Tee times and groups. This will prevent a large group forming on the 1st Tee and around the Club.
Anyone who is not playing in the Competition are more then welcome to play after the potential qualifiers have moved off.
Reminder of protocol for potential new Club Members.:
The Committee and Club Welcome All new Members. Where a potential joiner attends at any of the Club bookings they should be assigned to an available Committee Member/s and play at the end of the draw. This enables an assessment of the joiners current golfing ability and does not interfere with Competition play etc. New Members should be encouraged to submit a card for Handicap purposes where appropriate.
COVID Protocols Reminder:
You should all of received an email from Colin Wyatt reminding us all of the importance of complying with Government regulations regarding indoor hospitality. It is important that we all abide with staying away from the bar area either standing or sitting. Order from your table and wear a mask when standing or moving around the building. As Colin has mentioned, if we can not adhere to these instructions then the Committee will have no option but to close the Club and revert to outside service only.
Enjoy your golf!
Best wishes
