Hello All

Last Weekend we saw our first Medal competed for over five Months! With contrasting weather conditions over the Weekend there was no low scoring and Handicaps stood up to scrutiny!

Division 1 Winner with an excellent lowest Gross score of 73 /70 was Mick Edmunds from Stan Ferguson Runner up 83/73. Mick achieved 3 Birdies and 11 Pars during his round. congratulations and well done. Mick stated that he is well on his way to regaining his Club Championship and was very unlucky not to have had a hole in 1 on the 12th!

Division 2 Was won by Brian Taylor with a Net 71 on Card Play off with Cyril Elliott. Congratulations to you both and well played.

Andy Scott was the only player to achieve Birdie balls on the Par 3’s with an excellent approach to the 12th which was only a few feet from the pin. Well done.

There were 23 Players with £69.00 collected. I am grateful for the majority of you who took the time to sign in and enter your scores. This saves me a lot of time.

Results and Handicap Index list will be displayed at the Club.

A reminder that when you sign in for a Competition your Handicap Index, Course Handicap and then your PLAYING Handicap will be shown. Please put your Playing Handicap on your card.

This Weekend we will be playing for the Stableford Trophy. £2.00 entry. Please sign in and enter your scores on the club computer or remotely. Play from the White tees.

Preferred Lies:
Essex Golf Union have extended the use of the above provisionally until 16th May. A further extension will also be reviewed by 10th May. Should the condition of our course not improve I will consider applying for a further extension.

It has been a great pleasure to see so many of you back at the Club and enjoying each others company and golf. Wednesday saw 16 players. Dave has sold a barrel of Fosters alone this past week! May it long carry on.

Welcome to new Members Nigel Hammond and Andrew Caldwell who both played over the weekend and enjoyed the company and atmosphere around the Club.

How did I do App:
I have noticed that a significant number of Members are not registered on the above. It is free to download and I can not stress enough how beneficial it is to have. It is simple to use and at a touch keeps you up to date with your current Handicap Index, alerts sent to your phone with with your score history, competition results and Leader board. You can also register and enter scores for both competition and casual rounds at the club remotely. Well worth having!

Best wishes
