Good Afternoon All.

Please find attached the results of the Southend On Sea Golf Club Championships 2020, both Scratch and Handicap. Also The Ben Birkham Trophy.

This Sunday saw 26 golfers playing in the above Competitions and over the weekend A total of 37 entrants to all Competitions which is a fantastic turnout.

The Well deserved Winner of both Championships this year Was Jamie Cushing. Congratulations and well played Jamie.

The Runner up in the Scratch Competition was Mick Edmunds, in the Handicap Competition was Martin Jones. Great efforts from both of you. Please see the full Results and note some other commendable efforts.

The Winner of the Ben Birkham Trophy with an outstanding Nett 65 was Ian Spooner. Runner up was ‘Robber’ Roy George with an excellent Nett 69. Ian has earned his 3 shot cut now playing off 27.5.

A very enjoyable day was had by all on Sunday, with very warm weather setting a very testing 36 holes. It was Impressive to see so many going out in the afternoon. Well done to all. Some great efforts in both competitions and good scoring.

Thanks to Dave Buckley for providing the usual Sausage and bacon rolls plus the Buffet lunch. As I was leaving early evening Andy Scott and the flies were competing For what was left!

The standard of scoring/cards was excellent and I thank all of you for making my job so Much easier as a result.

This Coming Weekend we will be playing the August Monthly Medal. This will be from The White Tee posts. £3.00 entry Birdie 2’s balls on Par 3 Holes. £3.00 entry fee to be Deposited in the box in the bar.

For those who have or can download the Howdidido app to smartphone or iPad etc I will be enabling you to input your score direct into the Competition on Club V1 system. Please see the short explanatory video on the app. Please either retain or screenshot Your cards as insurance. Those submitting cards in the normal way I will accept Multiple players on one card provided that names are clearly marked on the cards.

This Wednesday we will be playing the August Midweek Medal (Midweek OOM) Please be at the club early between 7-715am for the draw. £3.00 entry etc Play off White Tees.

Captains Day Saturday August 2nd. Please let Tony know if you are attending or Not so that arrangements can be finalised.
