Southend Golf Club Christmas Golf Away Day 20th November 2019 at Kingswood Golf Course Basildon.
With a good turnout of members and guests the day started with a nine-hole putting competition on a frost covered putting green. The conditions made putting tricky and hard to read for most golfers, but not for eagle eye Paul Ealy who made it look easy, returning a winning card of 20 for the nine holes, could he owe it to skill or to those corduroy trousers!!
The day was organised by club member Brian Taylor and all would agree he made a fine job of it, well done Brian. We would also like to say thank you to the staff at Kingswood Golf Club for a warm welcome and excellent Christmas dinner to finish the day.
The weather and course were good for this time of year, and the outright winner of the eighteen-hole competition with a fine stableford score of 42 point was Mick Butcher well played Mick.
This is the final competition for the Wednesday Wanderers Order of Merit 2019.
Will Tony Howson cling on for a start to finish season victory? All to play for. Winner to be Presented with magnificent decanter filled with Spirit of choice!
