Ballards Gore Golf Club Seniors’ Section
Hello Seniors!
This year’s programme of external competitions drew to a close this week with the Ballards Gore Seniors Invitational, with 15 visiting teams from local clubs, and 3 home teams playing alongside them in a separate competition.
The start of the day was not promising! …but golfers are made of sterner stuff than those put off by the weather, which soon improved and after a damp start an enjoyable and competitive round was followed by the usual excellent Ballards Gore lunch, in good company.
Southend Golf Club won the Invitational Challenge, with Rayleigh and Garon Park a very close second and third. The separate Home Team competition was won by Keith Cass, Tony Spall, Simon Swain and Stu Showler – mostly due to Tony’s outstanding 37 points in difficult conditions!
