NEWS & FIXTURES
Firstly, Happy New Year to everyone.
As we begin 2026, I am taking over as the new Competition Secretary. I would like to acknowledge the fantastic job Tony has done in this role and personally thank him for his support and guidance as I take over the reins. I hope, with your continued support, to do justice to the role.
Competitions have now been set up on the Club V1 system for the next two months and, working closely with our Club Captain, Jules, we have agreed competition dates for the first six months of the year. These can be found on the club website under the “Diary” menu, allowing everyone to plan ahead as requested at the AGM.
With the announcement this weekend of course closure a close eye will need to be kept on the scheduling of our competitions so please be aware that some rescheduling may be required.
From my early experience, I’ve noticed that when it comes to closing competitions and finalising results, some scorecards or entry fees are occasionally missing or incomplete. Following these up can be time-consuming, so to help things run as smoothly as possible, I kindly ask that you all take ownership when submitting your fully completed scorecards and entry fees by ensuring they are placed in the competition box located by the bar before the competition closes.
To ensure fairness and consistency for everyone, I won’t be able to chase missing cards or payments, and entries not available at the time of collection may unfortunately have to be disqualified.
The draw for the Sportmans will be made on 19th January 2026. Those not wishing to be included please let me know by the 17th Jan to avoid unnecessary draws/byes.
Thank you all in advance for your cooperation and support. I’m looking forward to a great year of competitions.
Colin
