The Wednesday Wanderers annual Xmas golf outing to Basildon golf club took place on Wednesday 3rd December and was very well attended with 35 members playing and a couple more attending for dinner.
The weather was glorious for the time of year and the course was in good condition although very wet after the heavy rain of the previous evening.
Scoring was very good in general and cash prizes were given to the top three places
The winner with 40 points was Chris Nash
Second place was Nick Chapman with 39 points
Third place was Pete Robinson with 39 points
Paul Gray and Colin Wyatt also had 39 points but missed out on countback
Nearest the pins prizes were won by Tony Pegrum (4th) and Nick Blenkinsop (14th). Nearest approach in 2 (5th) was won by Paul Gray.
A full Christmas dinner and beers went down well after an enjoyable day on the course. Captain Mick Edmunds thanked the organisers – Brian Taylor, Dave Seymour and Dave Buckley – for their input for the day.
Congratulations and well played to all the winners !
