RESULTS

Jimmy Groves & Ben Birkham Trophies – Fri/Sat/Sun – 7th/8th/9th November.
There were 20 entries to the Jimmy Groves and Andy Scott won the competition with a fine gross 75 – net 66. Ali Fisher came home second with an 81 – net 70 and Nick Chapman just pipped Dan Clement for third on countback, both scoring net 73’s. Daryl Mechem, also net 73 and Mick Edmunds net 75 collected the remaining merit points.
The Ben Birkham was won by Lee Porter scoring a gross 89 – net 71. Runner up was Kev Verner on 93 – net 75.
Unfortunately, as last year, the Ben Birkham was poorly attended. In other circumstances we would have cancelled it but historically the two competitions are run side by side so that all members have the opportunity to play at the same time in a mixed field. We gave it a second chance this year but going forward we will have to amend the entry requirements handicap wise to get a more even split of players in each one. It’s a shame as it has been run this way for many years but there is no point carrying on as it is.

Only one sleeve of club balls were won and that was by Dan Clement on the 10th.

November Midweek Medal – Wednesday 12th November
The last midweek competition of this golfing year. Green tee set. stroke play as usual.

November Monthly Medal – Fri/Sat/Sun – 14th/15th/16th Nov
Blue tee set, Stroke play as usual.
This is officially the last competition of this golfing year.

The Morrie Burns Trophy – Fri/Sat/Sun – 28th/29th/30th Nov
Officially the first competition of the 2026 season. A stableford competition played from the blue tee set (back mats)

The new diary is almost ready and will run alongside the existing one for a while so people can switch over. Details of how to subscribe to it (free of charge) will be made available soon.
