CLUB AGM
This year’s AGM has been set for Thursday 11th December

NEW CAPTAINS DRIVE IN
Next seasons Captain Jules will be driving in on Sunday 7th December. He is also planning a 60th birthday bash at the club on Sunday 21st December with golf in the morning and a party in the afternoon. All are invited and full details will come later.

ROGER FOREMAN MATCH
Despite our best efforts we fell just short against Belfairs and lost a very closely fought match by the odd game. Well done to all that took part and helped out on the day. Hopefully we can recover the Shield in the Spring.

UPCOMING FIXTURES
Jimmy Groves & Ben Birkham Trophies – Fri/Sat/Sun – 7th/8th/9th November.
As usual we will be running both these competitions on the same weekend. They are both stroke play off the back mats (blue tee set)
In old money the Jimmy Grove was for players of 18 handicap or less and everyone above 18 played in the Ben Birkham. Obviously we have to convert these figures under the WHS system.
There were quite a few that didn’t seem to understand the entry requirements last year so for clarity:
If you have a WHS INDEX of 22.7 or less you enter the Jimmy Groves (as this will convert to 18 or less off the blue tees)
If you have a WHS INDEX of 22.8 or higher then you enter the Ben Birkham (as this will convert to 19 or higher off the blue tees)
If you are on the cusp of these figures, the 5% competition reduction may make you think you are in the wrong comp. Just ignore it, the set up will sort it out.

November Midweek Medal – Wednesday 12th November
The last midweek competition of this golfing year. Green tee set. stroke play as usual.

November Monthly Medal – Fri/Sat/Sun – 14th/15th/16th Nov
Blue tee set, Stroke play as usual.
This is officially the last competition of this golfing year.

All of these fixtures are now on HowDidiDo

Once these two medals have been completed I will add the merit points along with the merit points for the Knock out competitions we have played this year and will be able to publish the final merit points tables.

The first competition of the 2026 season will be the Morrie Burns Trophy – 28th – 30th November.

I am aware that some of you are having problems accessing the diary sometimes on the club website. Our webmaster Darren knows of the problem and is working on our behalf to replace the type of diary we use in order to solve the issue.

Nigel is today going to block access to the grass area behind the club for the winter with the concrete blocks again as the ground is starting to cut up with the onset of winter. Please don’t attempt to bypass them.
