Hello to all,

Firstly, thank you to all those that turned out and supported presentation night on the 28th. As usual Dave and Carleigh kept everyone lubricated and a good night was had. An extra night where we can take a few pounds over the bar is never a bad thing.

RESULTS
NORMAN PLUM MATCH Vs HARWICH & DOVERCOURT Sun 6/3/25

For the second year in a row we pipped Harwich & Dovercourt on aggregate score after a tough 3-3 draw. A big win by Peter & Jorge, a great comeback by Nick & Jules and a typical solid Daryl & Chris Kirby win were pivotal. But all players gave their all and represented the club brilliantly, never giving up, which ultimately got us the win. Special mention to Mrs Donovan for her massive help and effort with the food for the visiting team. A big result for our great little club.

SOUTHEND CUP QUALIFIER – 4th/5th/6th April
It was really pleasing to see such a good turnout last weekend for this one, especially as a lot of players had the Norman Plum to play in as well. In all there were 32 entrants. Brett “Haggis” Kilgour continued his recent fine form and returned the best score of gross 86 – net 66. Daryl Mechem came in second with a gross 81 – net 69 and Jamie Montgomery was third with gross 81 – net 70.

15th and last qualifying place went to Iain McEwan a gross 83 – net 76. Full results are on HowDidiDo.
A draw for those 15 players along with last year’s winner, Peter Robinson will be made soon and a sheet posted on the notice board.

One sleeve of birdie balls was won, by Barry Ball on the 15th. Congratulations and well played to all!

Thursday April 10th – Captain’s Spring Outing – Stockbrook Manor Golf Club
You are playing for the Biceno Trophy. Mick has already sent out the pairings and order of play but you are all requested to be there at 8.00am for bacon rolls and coffee.(with your £60 cash) This is a club competition so all your scores will be entered on to EG by me on Friday. I can’t be there on Thursday but Chris Snell has kindly offered to collect all the cards on the day and get them to me. Please do not attempt to sign in to EG and put your own scores in.

April Monthly Medal – Stokeplay – White tees

Mick has booked 5 tee times on this Saturday starting at 10.00am. He’s organising some prizes and after golf there will be music and food. Cost is £10.00. Any profits over will go to Captain’s charity. A sign up sheet will go on the board this week.

Wednesday 23rd April
Mid week Medal – Stroke play – Yellow tees.

Saturday 26th April – Spring Shield / Kindred Qualifier
Then sign up sheet will be taken down this weekend and during the week leading up to the 26th a draw will be made and an order of play sent out.
