NEWS – RESULTS – FIXTURES
Hello to all,
Firstly, a big thank you to Mick and the team for the clear up in the shower area, Colin Wyatt for organising the much needed repairs to the flat roofs and to Brett for giving up his time doing another great job building more lockers in the shower area. We are lucky to have such a good group of people willing to help out with the running and maintenance of our great little club. It;s also worth mentioning that behind the scenes the committee have done a lot of work recently to make changes to the way we operate in order to bring costs down wherever we can for the benefit of everyone. We have been able to make substantial savings to our Club V1 subscriptions thanks to the work Colin Jarman has put in arranging the new till system and Colin Wyatt changing our broadband provider.

The Golden Day Trophy – 7th/8th/9th March
There were 23 entrants over the weekend for this competition and vice capt Julian Walden came out on top shooting an 83 – net 67 to claim the Trophy. Brett Kilgour was a worthy runner up with a gross 86 – net 69 (despite 4 putting the 18th , sorry Brett I was asked to mention it). Gary Fraser was third with an 85 – net 70. Merit points also went to Daryl Mechem, Tony Pegrum and Colin Jarman. Lowest gross was Mick Edmunds with a 78 (sorry, I’m always asked to mention that!) Birdie balls went to Gary Fraser, Brett Kilgour and Chris Donovan.
Congratulations and well played to all!
FIXTURES
This Wednesday 12th is the March midweek medal – as usual played off the front (green) mats. There are a number of players planning to play around 10.30 this Wednesday (due to the overnight frost forecast) and Colin Jarman has pre booked some tee times. All are welcome to join them at this time but you need to let Colin know in advance in case he needs more tee times. As from next month we will be starting the midweek stableford competitions again which proved very popular last year.
The next weekend competition up is the Monthly Medal -Friday/Saturday/Sunday 21st/22nd/23rd March.
Thank you for getting the Sportsman first round completed. As there is no competition this weekend coming there is plenty of opportunity to arrange some second round Sportsman and first round winter 4 ball matches. The dates have been added to the 4 ball chart on the notice board, both of these rounds need playing by 6th April please.
PRESENTATION NIGHT – FRIDAY 28TH MARCH
We are looking forward to a great social night in the club celebrating with all the winners and runners up from the 2024 season. As usual, all the winners and runners up in attendance on the night will automatically receive a sleeve of club balls.
It’s not just about the prizes though, a busy social night always helps with bar takings so come along and show support, have a few drinks and banter with other members and help the winners celebrate !
ROGER FOREMAN MATCH Vs BELFAIRS SUNDAY 30th MARCH
The sign up sheet for this is still on the notice board and Mick & Jules are still looking for players so get your names up or just let Mick know if you are available.
